Budget supermarket Lidl is set to sell real Christmas trees for the first time ever, aiming to help its customers saving money this festive season.

The trees, will go on sale tomorrow (Thursday, November 29) and as you'd expect from the German retailer, its prices are much lower than its competitors.

Lidl is aiming to make it easier than ever for ts customers who usually stick with artificial Christmas trees to opt for a real one instead.

There will be two types of real trees available; Fresh Cut and Pot-grown.

The Fresh Cut trees will be £19.99 while the pot-grown trees will be £16.99. Lidl is describing the trees as having "strong but soft needles which not only makes them ideal for family decorating, but save on the hoovering too".

The suppler is a tree co-op named Needlefresh, and all Christmas trees are sourced and grown in the Black Isle in Scotland.

The trees will be released to stores tomorrow as part of Lidl's limited edition ranges meaning once they've gone they've gone.

To keep trees in their festive finery for as long as possible, Lidl recommends leaving it outside until it’s ready for decoration. Once inside, keep it away from direct heat and pop it into a pot. Healthy trees can drink up to a pint of water a day, so be sure to keep it topped up!
