Apple could launch AirPods Pro with USB-C charging case later this year

I think this is likely the USB-C version of the AirPods Pro 2, with mass shipments expected in 2Q23-3Q23. By the way, Apple currently appears to have no plans for USB-C versions of the AirPods 2 & 3.

A recent report suggested that the iOS 16.4 build had a reference to the new variants of the AirPods Pro with the model number A3048 along with a new case featuring a model number A2968, indicating the launch of the AirPods Pro 2 with the USB Type-C port is just around the corner.

Apple introduced the 2nd Gen AirPods Pro back in 2022 along with the iPhone 14 series. The 2nd edition came with improved ANC performance, improved audio quality, and even had a new case with a loop for a lanyard. Despite having a similar design to the original model, the AirPods Pro 2 offered an overall feature upgrade when compared to their predecessor.

The AirPods Pro 2 are currently available for Rs 26,900, and the upcoming model with the USB Type-C port is likely to replace these and could cost the same as the current model.
