Jio introduces JioFiber Backup: Here’s everything you need to know

JioFiber Backup is a broadband plan that starts at Rs 198 per month and can come in handy in case your primary broadband connection is down or not working.

Reliance Jio has launched a new plan for internet users called JioFiber Backup. The new plan is aimed at users who need a secondary broadband connection in case their existing internet connection is not working or is down for maintenance. Jio is also offering a way for users to temporarily increase their internet speed as per their requirements. Here’s everything you need to know about JioFiber Backup.

What do I get with JioFiber Backup Rs 198 plan?

JioFiber Backup plans start at Rs 198, which offers unlimited data at 10 Mbps, free landline calls and allows users to increase their internet connection speed with instant activation. Depending on your requirements, you can increase your broadband speed up to 100Mbps for a week. Users can also opt for a five-month backup plan for Rs 1,490, which includes a one-time Rs 500 installation fee.

How can I temporarily increase my internet speed?

While the 30Mbps upgrade plans for 1 day, 2 days and 7 days are priced at Rs 21, Rs 31 and Rs 101, if you want to increase your broadband speed to 100Mbps, you will have to shell out Rs 32, Rs 52 and Rs 152 respectively. To get the JioFiber Backup plan, you need to give a missed call on 60008 60008, visit the Jio website or go to the nearest Jio retail store to book a backup connection for Rs 99.

Apart from the aforementioned plans, JioFiber is also letting users add a set-top box connection for Rs 100 extra per month. If you opt for the ‘Entertainment Upgrade’ plan that costs Rs 298 per month, you get a free 4K set-top box, access to 400 live TV channels, 6 OTT apps and YouTube.

Users who pay Rs 200 extra per month will get 550 live TV channels instead of 400 and access to 14 OTT platforms which include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, ErosNow, JioCinema, SunNxt, VootSelect and more.

Festive offer

The most expensive plan on the list is the Rs 1,499 plan that offers 300Mbps speed along with access to 16 OTT platforms and 550 live TV channels.
