iOS 16.4 update: How to download and install on your iPhone

If you were on iOS 16.3.1, then the iOS 16.4 update will be around 1.8GB in size. However, if you were on an earlier version of iOS 16, the update could be as big as 5GB. Users can install these updates via a Wi-Fi network, or they can download and install them using the 5G network.

Apple has finally released the stable iOS 16.4 update for all eligible iPhones. This latest iterative update fixes some bugs and introduces minor new features, such as 21 new emojis. Additionally, the update further optimizes crash detection on the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and is now available in more markets.

To download and install iOS 16.4, go to Settings > General > Software Update and enable automatic updates. Then, click on “Install Now” to update your iPhone to iOS 16.4. Make sure your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network or 5G network to quickly download it. Also, ensure that the iPhone has at least 50% battery before starting the software update process.

iOS 16.4 update: What’s new?

This is an iterative update that has been released to further stabilize iOS 16. The update introduces 21 new emojis, such as animals, hand gestures, and objects, which can be accessed via the emoji keyboard. Similarly, the update now allows users to add web app notifications to the home screen for easy access.

iOS 16.4 also improves voice call quality by introducing Voice Isolation, which prioritizes the user’s voice and blocks out external noise. With the latest update, the iPhone can now detect duplicate photos and videos on the iCloud shared photo library.

Additionally, there is voice-over support for maps via the weather app, and Apple now allows users to automatically dim the video when a flash or light is detected via the Accessibility settings.
