Md Yumman Asharf is the BSEB topper with 97.8 per cent (479 marks out of 500). The other two positions have been earned by girls.
In 2023, the Bihar Board modified the exam pattern for class 10 board exams and more MCQ-based questions were introduced, as well as the choice options were increased. Due to this, candidates are now required to score a minimum of 30 per cent marks in each subject to qualify for BSEB Class 10 exams.
Last year, the total pass percentage was 79.88 per cent. Ramayani Roy was declared the topper of BSEB Class 10. She scored 487 marks. The first division was achieved by 4,24,857 students, as many as 5,10,411 students secured the second division and 3,47,637 got the third division.
The board recorded a pass percentage of 81.04 per cent, which is the first time the board has recorded this in the past five years.
Over 16 lakh students appeared for BSEB Matric exams.

The only years when Patna Board students managed to cross 80 per cent overall pass percentage in the past five years was in 2019 (when Board recorded 80.73 per cent) and in 2020 (when the overall pass percentage was 80.59 per cent). Before 2019, the overall pass percentage was not even crossing 70 per cent. In 2018, the percentage recorded was 68.89 per cent and 50.12 per cent in 2017.
While Class 12 students have been able to score better, Class 10 students have not managed to cross 80 per cent in the overall pass percentage. Last year, the total pass percentage was 79.88 per cent.
Whether or not the overall pass percentage will cross 85 per cent this year is yet to be seen.

Class 1-8 students will be promoted to the next higher class even if they don’t pass the exams, said a notification released by the Secretary, Basic Education Council. Students of all council schools and recognised schools run under the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council will be given admission to the next class as per the rules. BSEB released the answer key for objective-type questions asked in the Class 10 board examination (matriculation) on March 6. Candidates were allowed to raise objections to the answer key till 5 pm of March 10.
In 2020, the pass percentage of male students was higher as 6,13,485 boys passed the exams against 5,90,545 girls. This was despite the fact that total number of girls was higher than that of boys.
This year, for objective questions, students were provided with a separate OMR sheet. The board also introduced coded answer sheets this year to avoid any malpractice during the evaluation process

From CBSE, 47,421 students transferred to BSEB in 2018, 69,460 in 2019, 87,086 in 2020, 1,00,438 in 2021 and 95,204 in 2022.
BSEB claims that in 2022, 1,13,210 students of other boards enrolled in Class 11 of Bihar Board, including 95,204 students from CBSE. As a result of the online enrollment system, about five lakh students of other boards have taken admission in Class 11 of BSEB since 2018.
The BSEB Matric result will be declared by the state Education Minister Chandrashekhar, in a press conference, which will also be attended by the Bihar Board's additional chief secretary and BSEB chairman Anand Kishore.
The BSEB intermediate exam results were declared on March 21. The overall pass percentage this year stood at 83.70 per cent.

Bihar Board’s Class 10th overall pass percentage continues to improve over the years. In 2017, 50.12 per cent students passed the exam which improved to 68.89 per cent in 2018 and 80.73 per cent in 2019.

A senior Bihar Board official said the result for class 10 will be released either "tomorrow or on Friday," however, he has not confirmed the timings yet. The Inter result was released last week and the BSEB released the result updates to the media around three hours before the declaration time. Therefore, the Bihar Board is likely to declare the result on Thursday or Friday afternoon.
