Ajay Devgn-directed Bholaa remains the first choice for moviegoers on weekdays. After earning Rs 4.50 crore on its first Monday, the film posted a similar total on Tuesday as well. As per the trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the action film earned Rs 4.80 crore on Tuesday. It looks like Tuesday’s holiday in certain parts of the country benefitted the film.
With this, Bholaa’s total collection stands at Rs 53.58 cr. It is a decent total, given how Devgn’s previous films as director, Runway 34, Shivaay and U Me Aur Hum, performed in theaters. Runway 34, which released in the post-pandemic era, couldn’t even reach the Rs 50 cr mark in four weeks. The film’s total collection was just Rs 32.96 cr.
Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#Bholaa benefits marginally thanks to #MahavirJayanti holiday… Ideally, Day 6 [Tue] should’ve been much higher than Day 5 [Mon] due to the holiday factor… Thu 11.20 cr, Fri 7.40 cr, Sat 12.20 cr, Sun 13.48 cr, Mon 4.50 cr, Tue 4.80 cr. Total: ₹ 53.58 cr. #India biz.

Bholaa’s successful run in the theaters is expected to continue for another week, as the next big Bollywood release, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, will be released only on April 21. Adarsh is positive about Bholaa registering a good total by the end of its second weekend in the theatres. He tweeted, “Another holiday on Fri [#GoodFriday] should also help the film begin Weekend 2 on a positive note. #BoxOffice.”
#Bholaa is steady on the make-or-break Mon… Reported better occupancy in evening shows, since Tue [today] is a holiday [#MahavirJayanti]… Thu 11.20 cr, Fri 7.40 cr, Sat 12.20 cr, Sun 13.48 cr, Mon 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 48.78 cr. #India biz.

Positive word of mouth is also helping the film, which is being appreciated for its strong cast and entertaining action sequences. Devgn plays a prisoner in the movie, which is a remake of the Tamil hit Kaithi, and Tabu features as an IPS officer. Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, and Gajraj Rao appear in pivotal roles.
The Indian Express’ review of Bholaa read, “Action junkies, rejoice. ‘Bholaa’, in which Ajay Devgn does double duty as the eponymous lead actor and director, is the kind of all-out, no-holds-barred, high-octane actioner we haven’t seen in Bollywood in a long time. The all-out action film is not for the faint-hearted but it is bang for your buck.”
