Celebrities have been dishing on podcasts like never before.

Last week, Zayn Malik gave his first interview in six years. The former One Direction member and ex-partner of supermodel Gigi Hadid has been in media hibernation; he was last in the headlines in 2021 for pleading no contest to harassment charges by Hadid’s mother, Yolanda Hadid.

In the interview, Malik talked about co-parenting his daughter, Khai, the reason he left 1D — “we got sick of each other, to be completely honest”— and the aftermath of the incident with Yolanda. “I knew what the situation was, I knew what happened, and the people involved knew what happened too and that’s all I really cared about … I wasn’t trying to get into a negative back and forth with her.”
