A Clinton Township woman attacked multiple Michigan State Police officers Monday morning after being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, the agency said.

According to a statement on X from the MSP Second District, around 2:40 a.m., a trooper stopped the 24-year-old woman for suspected impaired driving in Warren on Interstate 696 near Mound Road traveling eastbound.

The driver was taken into custody and "while at the post for fingerprinting the suspect became angry and threw a department owned phone to the ground breaking it," investigators wrote.

The woman then refused to walk and became dead weight for the officers.

She was placed in a patrol car and kicked a trooper in the face and kicked the windshield while they were driving to Oakland County Jail. The trooper received a black eye in the incident, state police reported.

The woman later bit two deputies when she was being checked into the jail. According to police, she was not injured and the troopers did not require medical treatment.

“This weekend we saw suspects attempting to injure troopers during arrests. I am proud of the troopers who used their training and experience to continue to de-escalate these incidents and keep the public and themselves safe," said First Lt. Mike Shaw of the MSP Second District.
