Warren — Four students were arrested Monday during classes at Warren Woods Tower High School in connection with a shooting last week that prompted lockdowns at the school and nearby Macomb Community College, according to a Warren police source.

Officers at about 2 p.m. arrested two 16-year-olds and two 17-year-olds at the high school and are searching for a fifth suspect following Thursday's shooting that left the victim paralyzed from the neck down, the source told The Detroit News.

The shooting at Martin and Bunert roads occurred around 3:10 p.m. Thursday and the lockdown was lifted about two hours later. The victim was a male driving a blue sedan who was shot in the throat, arm and leg before crashing into a front lawn, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw three suspects run from the scene after the shooting. Investigators said the incident was not believed to have been random and may have been the result of a prearranged transaction between the suspect, or suspects, and the victim, police said.

Investigators were preparing warrants Monday requesting Macomb County Prosecutors to charge the suspects as adults with assault with intent to commit murder, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, the police source told The News.
