Police have launched a manhunt after two boys were injured following a suspected corrosive substance attack inside a London tube station on the weekend.

British Transport Police were called to reports of a substance being thrown at the pair at around 8pm at Elm Park Underground station. They were rushed to hospital following the terrifying incident on February 24. The boys are not believed to have sustained life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Officers have since released CCTV images in a bid to track down people they believe could have information to assist their investigation. It comes following recent attacks in the city.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Marvin Bruno said: "Violence in any form will not be tolerated on the rail network and we would like to reassure the travelling public that our officers are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible.

"We are really keen to speak to the people in the images, or anyone else who witnessed the incident, as we believe they have information which could help our investigation. If you know them or have any information that might help, please get in touch."
