With a big personality and plenty of shows under his belt, bosses are confident the straight-talking star will tell it like it is.

A source said: "David's great TV and doesn't hold back - he won't bite his tongue when it comes to giving his opinion in the house."

The Sun has contacted ITV for comment.

David last appeared on screens as a guest on Big Brother's sister show Late & Live where he gave his views on antics in the rebooted civilian version of the show.

Clearly a huge fan of the programme, David said: "Had such a stunning time on @bbuk late & live last night spilling all the t with these absolute huns! Thanks for having me."

Earlier in the year he appeared on The Big Celebrity Detox alongside Kerry Katona, Love Island's Toby Aromolaran and Homes Under The Hammer's Martin Roberts.

That show saw a collection of celebs tackling a host of different well-being experiences from coffee enemas to a vomiting session with a shaman.

It wasn't renewed for another series after receiving a backlash from grossed out viewers.

Whether or not it played a part in David's three stone weight loss is uncertain, but what is clear is that he's looking and feeling better than ever.

He recently documented his body transformation on social media and let his followers know how he's achieved it.

He wrote: "For everyone wanting to know how I’ve done it. I’m no dietitian or PT, but I try and go to the gym 6 days a week and eat 1700 calories! Then one day I do zero exercise and eat whatever the F I want! It seems to be working for me."

His TV career was rocked last year when it was revealed the Weekender series was being axed after 10 years on air.

For many of those years David had featured, becoming synonymous with the franchise.

He told fans: "Being part of Weekender is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I started the show when I was just 22 years old, I'm now 30. I’ve literally grown up doing the show. From Ibiza to Croatia to Kavos! After a PHENOMENAL 10 years its come to an end.

"It is extremely sad and I'm devastated. However I've had the most amazing times and met the most amazing people. Friends for life. Literally. But also Weekender allowed me to be myself and show that to all of you. And for that I'm forever grateful. To all the amazing crew as well that have been absolutely amazing to work with @twofourtv@itvxofficial you guys have been such a big part of my time with weekender.

"I also want to say the biggest thank you. To all of you for showing me love and supporting me over the years. I love you all my huns. Don’t worry you’ll still see me about."
