Seasons can sometimes turn on certain moments and Carlow football boss Niall Carew is hoping that rescuing victory from the jaws of defeat against Leitrim last Sunday can be just the springboard they need to kick on this year.
Having suffered a chastening defeat to table-toppers Laois the previous week, their hopes of earning promotion from Division 4 hung by a thread before former Dublin minor Colm Hulton dropped the shoulder and delivered a wonder goal off his left peg just seconds before the final whistle sounded.
