Anna Patten ‘buzzing’ after Ireland call-up for England and France clashes

Anna Patten has revealed her delight at being called up by Eileen Gleeson for the Nations League double-header against France and England next month.
Aston Villa defender Patten, a former England under-age captain, qualifies under the grandparent rule and could make her debut next Friday in France should her FIFA eligibility come through in time.
“I was buzzing when I got the call last night,” she told Villa TV.
“I’m so excited to play senior international football but also to represent the Republic of Ireland.
“It’s a huge honour for me and my family and I can’t wait to meet up with all the girls.”
