NHS Lanarkshire urges people to use Pharmacy First service to combat Spring allergies and ailments

To help them through the struggle, people can continue to rely on the Pharmacy First service, offering accessible healthcare advice and treatment for minor illnesses and conditions, including hay fever and allergies.

NHS Pharmacy First Scotland, provided by local community pharmacies across Scotland, serves as the first port of call for individuals grappling with minor health concerns.

“Expert pharmacists and their trained teams stand ready to offer advice, provide necessary medications, and even refer patients to other healthcare professionals if required.

“The Pharmacy First service covers a wide range of minor health concerns, including but not limited to allergies, backache, cold sores, sore throats, urinary tract infections, eye infections and more.

"Pharmacists, equipped with their expertise in medicines, can dispense necessary treatments or give self care advice for various conditions.

"Moreover, for those seeking specific medications or products, pharmacists offer valuable advice and guidance.

“You can choose which pharmacy to use for your healthcare needs, with no requirement to stick to a single location, though visits to the same pharmacy can allow pharmacists to maintain a comprehensive record of treatments, to help in effective condition management.”
