Suspect drug dealers named and charged with modern slavery

The men were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation

Suspected drug dealers have been named after being charged with drug supply and modern slavery offences.

Officers arrested two men in the Newton-le-Willows area on suspicion of drug supply as part of an ongoing investigation. Graham McEvoy, 19, from Market Street, Newton-le-Willows was charged with the following offences: concerned in the supply of crack cocaine; concerned in the supply of heroin; and five counts of arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

Lewis Davies, 19, from Clarence Street, Newton-le-Willows was charged with the following offences: concerned in the supply of crack cocaine; concerned in the supply of heroin; and five counts of arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning, Monday, April 8.

Detective Sergeant Pete Sloan said: "This investigation continues and we will be supporting and safeguarding those who we believe have been exploited. We work day in, day out to investigate suspected drug supply and those young and otherwise vulnerable people who can fall victim to their activities.

"Come forward directly or anonymously and we will keep taking action."
