Google Appears to Be Working on Pixel Buds Pro 2 as Battery Size of the Charging Case Shows Up in Two Listings

It appears that we are getting a successor to the Pixel Buds Pro, as the charging case of what seems to be the Pixel Buds Pro 2 has surfaced in a listing. The listing was found on UL Demko and Safety Korea, giving us more information on Google's upcoming wearable headphones that could launch later this year alongside the Pixel 9 series.

Google could announce the Pixel Buds Pro 2 next month at Google I/O 2024 with a slightly larger battery capacity for the case

The listing was spotted by 91mobiles, and the source claims that the charging case for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 showed up on UL Demko as well as Safety Korea; these organizations operate in Denmark and South Korea, respectively. The charging case carries the model number GH8tQ and reveals that the battery capacity on the case will be 650mAh, a little bigger than the battery offered on the original, which was 620mAh. How the earbuds perform in terms of battery life is still something we are going to have to wait and see.

Sadly, there is not enough information available on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 aside from the battery size of the charging case. This means we are unaware of when these buds are going to come out, what their feature set is going to be, and other similar information. However, looking at the release date of the original buds, we have a feeling that these buds could come out sometime in May or later this year. Google released the Pixel Buds Pro back in May last year, and since Google I/O 2024 is on May 14th, next month, there is a possibility that these buds might be coming out sooner than we'd expected.

If the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is indeed launching next month, it means that we are going to get more information about these buds, including some official marketing renders, in the coming weeks, considering how we are less than a month away from the event. Google will also be teasing other devices, including the Pixel 9 series, and will also be launching the Pixel 8a, which is going to be an interesting device considering its price point.
