A car flipped on its roof near a car park close to Liverpool city centre.

Merseyside Police were called to Crown Street, near to the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and the University of Liverpool at around 7.35am on Thursday, April 18. It followed reports of a crash involving a Renault Clio and a Toyota Yaris.

The Renault overturned onto its roof near to the staff car park on Crown Street. The driver, a woman, was checked by paramedics. The extent of any potential injuries is unknown.

A cordon was in place on Crown Street and at the height of the scene fire, ambulance and paramedics were all in attendance. The car park was also coned off and people were unable to use it.

The university and hospital were unaffected and people were able to move freely in and around the area. All roads have since reopened.
