A teacher claimed that she was unfairly sacked for coaching nine-year-olds in a TikTok dance despite a ban on children younger than 13 being on site.

Georgia Rogers was fired after bosses at her primary school discovered that she had “condoned” use of the video sharing platform.

The teacher was accused of breaching safeguarding procedures by failing to report her pupils’ use of the app, an employment tribunal heard. On another occasion pupils asked a different teacher if they could film a TikTok video and when told they could not they responded that Rogers had allowed them to access the site.

Rogers was fired after an internal investigation. She has sued the school, alleging unfair dismissal and disability discrimination.
