Britain's Got Talent star Tom Ball stunned fans when he returned to the ITV show with a totally different look.

The singer, 25, shot to fame when he competed on the 2022 series of the talent competition. He won over music mogul Simon Cowell as he auditioned with a rendition of Sam Smith's song Writing's on the Wall and went on to finish in third place. Tom got a call to appear on Britain's Got Talent once more as he returned as Noodle the Cat on the 2023 series.

Viewers were amazed to see Tom walked out on stage, with many branding him unrecognisable. Tom has since revealed the reason behind his drastic change of appearance and how he did it. Speaking to The Mirror about the reaction from fans, he said: "I was incredibly humble. I put a lot of work and effort since January to that time to improve my health. Ultimately, it wasn't a goal of trying to look better or be more appealing in any way.

"It was purely I want to feel better. I want to be able to stand on stage and not get tired. I wanna be able to sing better. I just want to be healthier and subsequently, you know, you end up looking a little bit better, and I had a haircut. It was a really nice moment. It's flattering and so if anyone thought I had a glow up Thank you very much."

Tom, who has type one diabetes, shared how he is now super focused on his health. He told us: "I'm back on diet, watching what I'm eating, how much I'm eating and make sure I'm eating the right stuff and going back to the gym. I'm in the gym four times a week at the moment with a PT trying to just ensure that I'm back into full health for the year that we've got ahead, which is a really exciting year."

The singer added: "In terms of my diabetes, it's ongoing. Never ending. It's relentless, obviously, there is no cure. So I've got this forever, so I've got to stay on top of it and if I don't, I become very unwell." Tom has revealed he gets recognised more for his appearcne on TV as Noddle the Cat, rather than his own audition.

"I think before I lost the weight and had a haircut, I'd get recognised as Tom a lot more," he said. "Now people go 'Noodle' and I guess because that was when I was on TV looking like this, and it still happens quite a lot, especially at an airport. In airports it's where it happens the most."

Since appearing on Britain's Got Talent, Tom tied the knot with his partner Hannah just months after the show, following their five-year long romance. They met on a dating website back in 2017, and Hannah supported Tom during his Britain's Got Talent journey. However, just as they were about to set off on their once in a lifetime honeymoon, Simon Cowell gave Tom a call to say he wanted him to compete on America's Got Talent All Stars series.

Tom told The Mirror that he was suit shopping for his wedding when the call came, and was told he would have to miss his honeymoon in order to appear on the show. He phoned his soon-to-be wife and said: "I was like, 'please let me'. She was wonderful and she agreed. We postponed the honeymoon and I went out to America." Despite missing out on his honeymoon, Tom admitted it was "a real honour" to be on America's Got Talent and "continue to wave the flag for Britain". Luckily, they were able to rearrange their special holiday to a few months later. "It was wonderful, it really, really, really was," Tom said.
