Four tries in 16 minutes denied the Scarlets an away victory over Edinburgh as they crashed to a 43-18 defeat at the Hive.

Dwayne Peel's had been in front with 20 minutes to go, only for four tries in the final quarter to dent their hopes of just their fourth victory in the league this season.

Wales wing Tom Rogers crossed for the opening try after five minutes, before Edinburgh full-back Wes Goosen responded with a score after 17 minutes.

However, a Sam Costelow penalty and a try by scrum-half Gareth Davies ensured the Scarlets went into the break ahead at the Hive.

Scotland winger Duhan van der Merwe closed the gap minutes after the restart, before Ben Healy's penalty put the home side ahead.

Another penalty from Costelow put the Scarlets back in front heading into the final quarter.

However, any hopes of a win were extinguished as the Scottish outfit ran in four tries through Matt Currie, Pierre Schoeman, Mark Bennett and Viliame Mata to seal victory.
