Pirates farm report for April 23, 2024: Veteran 1B Jake Lamb hitting .400 for Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 11-11) lost 7-4 to Omaha (Royals). 1B Jake Lamb (.400) went 3 for 3 with two singles, a double, a walk and an RBI. 2B Nick Gonzales (.390) went 2 for 4 with two singles, a walk and a strikeout. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.429) finished 1 for 4 with a single, a walk, three strikeouts and two runs scored. C Yasmani Grandal (.294) went 2 for 5 with an RBI double, a single and a run scored. SS Liover Peguero (.284) went 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts, a walk and an RBI. LHP Cam Alldred (0-3, 9.00) started and went three innings, allowing six runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out four while taking the loss. RHP Ben Heller (0.00) and LHP Jose Hernandez (16.20) each threw a shutout inning in relief. RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (3.38) allowed three hits, including a solo home run, walked two and struck out two in his two innings of work.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 5-10) mustered little offense in a 4-0 loss to Akron (Guardians). 1B Aaron Shackelford (.240) had both Curve hits with a single and a double. 3B Joe Perez (.278) went 0 for 1 with three walks and a strikeout. DH Jackson Glenn (.149) went 0 for 2 with a pair of walks and a strikeout and SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.186) was 0 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout. RHP Chris Gau (0-2, 3.12) went 2⅔ innings, yielded three unearned runs on five hits, including a two-run homer, struck out three and took the loss. RHP Cameron Junker (11.81) gave up one run on one hit, walked three and fanned one. RHP Brad Case (3.18) struck out three in three shutout relief innings.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 9-6) totaled five hits in an 8-0 shutout loss to Greenville (Red Sox). RHP Alessandro Ercolani (1-1, 1.38) allowed one unearned run on three hits, walked two and struck out one in five innings and suffered the loss. RHP Drake Fellows (5.87) gave up four runs on six hits, walked one and struck out one in two innings. RHP Jaycob Deese (9.00) went one inning and yielded three runs on three hits and struck out one. 3B Charles McAdoo (.277) went 2 for 4 with a pair of singles and a strikeout. LF Roldolfo Nolasco (.146) was 1 for 4 with a double and a strikeout. RF Hudson Head (.125) singled and was hit by a pitch, finishing 1 for 2. CF Sammy Siani (.306) singled in four plate appearances. 2B Termarr Johnson (.188) remains mired in a slump, going 0 for 4 with two strikeouts, a pop out and a fly out.

RHP Elijah Birdsong (0.00) walked one, struck out one and allowed one hit in two innings of relief. LHP Hunter Furtado (10.57) fanned two and yielded a hit in two shutout innings. RHP Landon Tomkins (3.27) walked two and struck out two in a pair of shutout frames. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.245) went 0 for 3 with a sacrifice fly and two strike outs. C Omar Alfonzo (.273) was 1 for 2 with a single, two walks and scored on Valdez’s sac fly. CF Shalin Polanco (.158) was 0 for 4 with three strikeouts.
