Jimmy Butler has yet to play against the Celtics during this opening-round playoff series, but that hasn’t stopped him from trying to get under their skin.

The injured Miami forward, who is sidelined with an MCL injury, trolled the Celtics on Instagram after the Heat posted a 111-101 victory against the Celtics at TD Garden Wednesday night.

Butler’s post featured his face photoshopped onto Jaylen Brown’s body. After the Heat took a 3-0 lead in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals, ESPN posted a graphic with the quote “Don’t let us get one” from Brown. Butler poked fun at this, using the exact same graphic, Celtics jersey and all just with his face instead of Brown’s.

Miami did let Boston get a win in Game 4 of that series, and the Celtics went on to force a decisive Game 7 at TD Garden where Miami beat them to advance to the NBA Finals.

“Don’t let us get one” is also what Kevin Millar said before Game 4 of the ALCS against the Yankees twenty years ago in 2004.

“Let me tell you, don’t let us win today,” Millar famously told The Boston Globe‘s Dan Shaughnessy before the Red Sox became the first MLB team to overcome a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs. “We’ve got Pedey tomorrow, and we’ve got Schill Game 6, and then Game 7 anything could happen … this is it, don’t let us win this game.”

The Red Sox didn’t just win the game, they won eight straight en route to a World Series sweep of the Cardinals. The triumph broke an 86-year curse.

Miami beat the Celtics at home Wednesday night without Butler and former Celtic Terry Rozier.

Instead of being down 2-0, the Heat return to Miami with the series tied and the momentum of an upset win. Just how Butler wants it.
