Early Thursday morning, Boston police officers swept into a walkway downtown where students at Emerson College students had set up a pro-Palestinian tent encampment.

Dressed in helmets and reflective jackets, law enforcement forcibly removed the encampment — one of several formed on college campuses in New England and nationwide in recent days — and began arresting protesters, according to police and videos taken by students.

As police confronted students, shouting protesters appeared to link arms. Some students said officers grabbed and dragged them.

More than 100 people were arrested, a police department spokesman said.

Here are visuals from the scene and the aftermath.
