Big Brother fans can officially sign up for the next series of the revived reality programme.

The return of the series was confirmed days after the Celebrity version came to an end, with AJ Odudu and Will Best returning as hosts. Ibiza Weekender star David Potts came out victorious after three weeks in the house, beating the likes of Nikita Kuzmin, Fern Britton and Louis Walsh.

At the end of the grand final, hosts AJ and Will declared applications for the civilian version of the ITV show were open. They confirmed Big Brother would be returning later this year, after its huge comeback last autumn. Jordan Sangha was announced as the winner of the series, beating Olivia Young who finished as runner-up.

Fans can now follow in their footsteps and according to the casting call, season two of Big Brother will take place in autumn 2024. As written on the website, Big Brother is looking for the nation's 'most interesting, funny and entertaining characters from all walks of life'.

Applications close on Wednesday 31st July 2024 at midnight. It comes after it was reported ITV are making a big change in time for the next season of the show after realising that "lairy" nightlife on the canal outside disrupts filming. According to reports, producers have started making plans to move the location from North West London to somewhere a bit more peaceful.

After the most recent series, bosses allegedly realised they'd made a mistake when they built the set at Garden Studios, in the London Borough of Brent. "During filming of the most recent series', they found that quite a few barge and boat users on the canal were pulling up and being quite lairy which disrupted filming. Of all the issues to arise, this was not on their radar," a TV insider, told The Sun.

The producers had expected the waterway next to the studios would be a "bonus", with the vision of contestants being brought up to the BB house entrance via boat like "James Bond movies". The source added: "But then they found out it wasn’t a river but a canal with a maximum speed limit of 4mph so the idea was abandoned."

Fans also had a lot of complaints about the production quality after watching the recent series. They took to social media to find fault, with one user saying: "I love BB/CBB, but this production is atrocious and very amateurish. Bring back Emma and Rylan! These two are not BB #CBBUK," whilst a second added: "I still don’t feel right watching without seeing Emma Willis #CBBUK." A third shared: "I wish you were involved Rylan #CBBUK."
