Dua Lipa Just Put Her It-Girl Seal of Approval on the Aura Nails Trend
If it’s one thing about Dua Lipa—you’ll never catch her without a fresh set of nails. Over the years, we’ve seen her rock so many different nail trends. But, Dua Lipa’s aura nails might just be her best set yet. Compared to her recent simple sets, this new nail look is truly a masterpiece. While the popstar is a fashion icon to Gen Z, real ones know to take note of both her outfits and nails.
There’s only one person to thank for all of Dua Lipa’s stunning manicures, and that’s nail artist Michelle Humphrey. Humphrey’s a nail veteran and has worked with Charli XCX, Cate Blanchett, and Katy Perry, among others. But her and Lipa have conquered almost every nail trend imaginable—jelly nails, gems, holographic french tips, chrome, snakeskin, and more. With so many nail looks under her belt, it’s no wonder Dua Lipa has become a nail icon.
Over the past couple of days in New York City, Lipa was seen sporting a brand new set of aura nails. Although she wore pale pink aura nails earlier this year, these new nails are a gorgeous ocean blue. (Paired with blue holographic eye glitter to match.) While some nail artists use a white base for their aura nails, Lipa’s aura nails always have a black base—which makes the color on top pop way more. Not to mention, the contrasting black and pastel perfectly matches Lipa’s edgy yet feminine aesthetic.
And while aura nails have remained a huge trend recently, Dua Lipa just inducted them into the nail trend hall of fame. This set in particular makes the case for dark aura nails—and after watching Lipa and Humphrey experiment with a pink set, we know that the hypnotizing color combinations are endless. Aura nails are here to stay and this dark twist on them is just what we needed. The it-girls might have bright auras, but thanks to Dua Lipa—their aura nails are dark.
