Controversial Married At First Sight groom Jack delivered a shocking blow in his final vows to devoted wife Tori - and it's left fans reeling.
The couple have been at the centre of some of the biggest scandals of the season, and while Tori Adams has persistently stood by her husband Jack Dunkley, it hasn't been an easy ride for the pair. Now Jack has left viewers stunned by referring to the couple as "teammates" rather than lovers.
In his tell-all speech, the tattooed groom questioned how he could commit to Tori if he was not in love with her, but then made a dramatic U-turn in a twist of emotion.
In what appeared to be a tense moment, Jack revealed that he was worried the only reason the pair got on so well was that they had each other's backs during the grillings and challenges they both faced - and dubbed them "teammates".
He said: "I am concerned our biggest connecting factor may have been the brutal environment of the experiment where our loyal personalities bonded over having each other's back and picking each other up when need be. Like teammates. Not lovers.
"Tori I'm sorry to say I didn't commit myself to this process for a platonic relationship, nor a teammate. We are not in love so how can I commit to you and ask you to uproot your life and move to the Gold Coast?" His speech went on to express his gratitude to Tori and that he was sorry, hinting that he was about to walk away from her.
However, in a shock switch-up, Jack then pulled it back and claimed that he was "committed" to her. Staring at a tearful Tori, Jack then said: "My ego and my pride cast a shadow on the happily ever after you were chasing and are so deserving of. Tori I need to do what is best for me and ultimately what is best for you. I deserve an equal. Moving forward with you is a massive risk and it's a risk I am 100% ready to take.
"I'd rather jump off the edge and fight for an amazing love-filled future with you then to have never tried to win your love at all. I am head over heels for you and I can't wait to fall in love." The dramatic vows took viewers by surprise as they took to X to share their thoughts. One viewer simply wrote: "Like teammates?! Yikes," while another added: "Na Jack is brutal. We knew it was coming," and a third wrote: "Jack is a nasty piece of work
Despite the brutal admission, Tori remained loyal to Jack and seemed to be won over when he flipped the script. In her vows, she claimed no one got to see the Jack she was "so protective over" and said it was "easy" to stick by him.
Making her feelings clear, the hopeful bride added: "Jack, I have found the person I never want to stop making memories with. Through thick and thin I have chosen you each and every day and I want to spend the rest of my days choosing you. You are my equal, my soulmate and I am falling in love with you."
Fans slammed Tori for being "delusional" as one person wrote: "Lovely vows Tori. Not sure who they were about but lovely nonetheless!" A second wrote: "Watching Tori say her speech is actually like watching a car crash happen in slow motion," while another added: "SOULMATE? You need a check-up from the neck up Tori, babes. Ridiculous, are you not embarrassed."
