FREMONT — Two people were found dead inside an apartment on Wednesday, authorities said.

Police were called to the complex about 2:45 p.m. after reports that a person was down inside a unit, city of Fremont spokesperson Amy Gee said in a statement.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Kim Macdonald said via email Friday that the apartment complex was located in the 39000 block of Stevenson Boulevard.

Gee said that once officers got to the apartment, they found two people dead inside.

Authorities did not say whether they suspect foul play but did not rule it out. They did not give out any identifying information on the two people who were dead.

“We are at the beginning stages of this investigation,” Macdonald said. “We do not believe the incident poses any threat to the community.”

Police said they were awaiting preliminary results from an autopsy by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office to determine the causes of death for both people.
