Imlie, starring Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy, has lately been the talk of the town, but not for good reasons. There have been numerous speculations that the popular Star Plus show may soon go off the air. Imlie has not been doing great off late in terms of TRP. There have been reports on how the channel may shut down Imlie, introduce a generational leap, or shift the show to an evening time slot. However, now we hear that there's a huge possibility that the show can be replaced. According to recent reports, Ankit Gupta's new show is all set to replace Imlie. Imlie to be replaced by Ankit Gupta's upcoming show?

As per a recent report in Filmibeat, Ankit Gupta's new show has got a time slot at 8:30 pm. For those unaware, Imlie starring Sai Ketan Rao and Adrija Roy airs on the 8:30 pm time slot. Well, if the above news is true, then either the channel will shut down Imlie or will shift it to an evening slot. Possibilities are if the channel does decide to shift it to an evening slot, it will certainly be at 6 pm. The evening slots of Star Plus are already preoccupied with Teri Meri Doriyaann airing at 7 pm and Meetha Khatta Pyaar Hamara, starring Avinash Mishra, at 6:30 pm. This means the channel only has the 6 pm slot to offer to Imlie if it does decide to shift it to the evening slot. Talking about Ankit Gupta's show, the show as of now is titled Maati Se Bandhi Dor. Apart from Ankit, the show will star Marathi actress Rutuja Bagwe as the female protagonist. Ankit Gupta was also offered Rohit Shetty's show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, however, after much speculation, he backed out of the stunt-based reality show and chose the TV drama as his next TV project after Bigg Boss 16.

Imlie was launched in September 2020. The show is currently in its third season. Sai Ketan Rao has initially denied the rumours of the show going off-air or having a generational leap.
