Kris Jenkins, Jeremiah Trotter Jr.'s Top Landing Spots After Day 1 of 2024 NFL Draft

There are quite a few NFL draft prospects this year with famous bloodlines, most notably wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., the son of a Hall of Famer.

But two more to keep an eye on after the first day of the NFL draft is Michigan defensive tackle Kris Jenkins and Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

Below, we'll break down some potential landing spots for each player at this year's NFL draft.

Jenkins, who has a third-round grade from the B/R NFL Scouting Department, seems like a safe bet to be a day two pick. He's flashed some legit strength and athleticism for his position, but his lack of ideal size and inconsistencies generating a pass rush were knocks against him.

Still, he shouldn't be around much longer.

The Los Angeles Rams lost team legend Aaron Donald to retirement this offseason, so they'll be a major team to watch when it comes to Jenkins. This is a pretty obvious fit.

The Miami Dolphins need bulk in the middle of the line after losing Christian Wilkins in free agency, so they are another team who seem like prime candidates to be in the Jenkins business.

Finally, the Tennessee Titans have a superstar in Jeffery Simmons and added nose tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day in free agency, but they have very little experience on the interior beyond those two players. Jenkins would bring some instant competition and potentially a nice upgrade to the defensive line room.

Trotter is considered a third-round prospect from the B/R NFL Scouting Department, which noted he has solid skills in pass coverage, is good going sideline-to-sideline, has power at the point of conflict and should be able to contribute as a blitzer. He needs to improve in the run game, however, dropping him a bit down the board.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost Devin White in free agency, so they are going to be in the market for linebackers in this draft. Trotter would make sense as a replacement.

The team that signed White to start alongside Nakobe Dean and also employed Trotter's father for many years, the Philadelphia Eagles, make sense as a potential suitor. The additions of White and Zack Baun made linebacker less of a pressing need than it was before free agency, but White is coming off a down year, Dean has struggled to stay healthy and Baun only has 88 career tackles in 62 games. It would not be surprising to see the team bring another option into the fold.

Remember the issues the Seahawks had against the run last season? New linebackers would help, though Trotter needs to grow in that area, as previously noted. Still, the Seahawks could use more competition for free-agent pickups Jerome Baker and Tyrel Dodson. Seattle already added Byron Murphy to round out the defensive tackle rotation, but more help up the spine would really bolster their defense.
