Lower Valley Community Food Bank to host bingo fundraiser

A spring bingo to benefit Lower Valley Community Food Bank will be at 7 p.m. May 11 at the Acme Club, 230 Herron Ave., Harmar.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost is $25, and includes six bingo cards for 10 games, snacks and bottled water. Extra cards, and tickets for special games, lottery sure tips, a summer drink bundle and 50-50 raffle will be sold. Bring non-perishable food items for the food bank and receive a free bingo card.

Commemorative book planned by Leechburg Anniversary Committee

The Leechburg 175th Anniversary Committee is selling ads and accepting donations for the 175th anniversary book that will be sold during the celebration planned next year in the borough.

Donations will make printing of the book possible. Minimum donation amount is $10 and all donors will be listed as patrons of the book regardless of the amount contributed. Ads can be placed in memory or in honor of a loved one.

Checks made payable to Leechburg Area Museum & Historical Society can be mailed to P.O. Box 156, Leechburg PA 15656. For more information about placing an ad, call 724-845-8914, stop in at Leechburg Public Library or email lamahs@windstream.net. Deadline is July 31.


HOPE Center accepting donations

The Alle-Kiski HOPE Center is seeking donations of household items for the clients it serves. The center provides free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and their families.

Items in need include bath sets containing a shower curtain, bathmat, toothbrush holder and soap dish, underwear, slippers in all sizes and genders; hairbrushes, combs, lotion, lip balm, curling irons and new makeup.

Donations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the administration office, 500 E. Eighth Ave., Tarentum. If you are ordering online, request delivery to this address. For details, call 724-224-1100 or visit akhopecenter.org.

Tarentum
