Two-time World champion Rhys McClenaghan has won a third European title in the pommel horse event.

At the European Gymnastic championships in Rimini, Italy this evening the 24-year-old Newtownards native secured the gold medal in style with a winning score of 15.30 ahead of Loran De Munck (Netherlands) 14.99 and surprise bronze medallist Marios Georgiou (Cyprus) 14.8.
