The Texas Longhorns are enjoying their best NFL draft in a long time and one of the best ever in program history. According to one NFL mock draft for next season, the draft success could continue.
Former NFL offensive lineman Blake Brockermeyer released his way-too-early 2025 NFL mock draft. Three Longhorns made the list.
It comes as no surprise that Kelvin Banks Jr. leads the list of Texas players. The five-star tackle recruit has been one of the team’s best players since the first game of his freshman season. Banks, like first-round wide receiver Xavier Worthy, was one of the key players that transformed Texas from a middling Big 12 program into a national contender.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers makes the list perhaps due in large part to the potential he has based on his skillset. The signal caller has a cannon for an arm, but a third year of starting experience would ensure Ewers as a safer bet than quarterbacks who have just a season or two as starter. The former five-star’s performance in big games like a road game against Alabama and in a Big 12 title inspires confidence.
Alabama wide receiver transfer Isaiah Bond also makes it on the first round list. Bond may need to get to 1,000 receiving yards at Texas in his final year like Worthy did to make the first round.
Here’s Brockermeyer’s first round prediction for the 2025 NFL draft.
