Barcelona come to decision on Vitor Roque’s future, and fans will not be happy

A fresh insight into the stance of the powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona when it comes to the immediate future of young frontman Vitor Roque has come to the fore on Tuesday.

And the news will no doubt mark a blow for all those hopeful of seeing Roque explode onto the scene in Catalunya’s capital next season.

This comes amid claims that the 19-year-old is being lined up for a loan move away from Barcelona.

As per a report from Diario Sport, amid his ongoing struggles for game-time since his January arrival from Athletico Paranaense, the Blaugrana brass have come to the conclusion that the best route forward for Roque is to seek out a starting berth elsewhere for the 2024/25 campaign.

Boss Xavi is understood to be in agreement with such a stance, after refusing to rule out the possibility when drawn on Roque’s future over the weekend.

‘The club is aligned with the coach and will advise both the player and his agent, André Cury, to go out in search of minutes,’ Sport reiterate.

Roque, for his part, is eager to stay put through the summer, but looks set to be left with little choice, in the face of another season confined to the bench at the Camp Nou.

The ideal scenario for Barca would be for the Brazilian international to link up with a La Liga rival, to garner further experience of Spanish football.

And Real Betis, for one, are understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation.
