Celebrity Big Brother’s Lauren Simon has come clean about a lie she has been telling “for years”.

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star – who was said to be 47 when she went on CBB earlier this year, becoming the second housemate to be evicted – has now revealed that she is in fact 51. Sharing all during a chat on former Geordie Shore legend Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast, Lauren said the younger CBB stars saw 71-year-old Sharon Osbourne as a “mother figure” in the house and admitted: “I’d go for a glass of champagne with Sharon as I’m in the middle of the ages.”

Revealing what she meant, Lauren confessed: “I mean, it’s been announced, I’ve lied about my age for years - but I am for 51.” This led Vicky to crack up in front of the camera as she told Lauren: “I love you, I’ve lied about my ages for years.”

Telling Vicky the real reason why, Lauren admitted it was “because I’ve always wanted to pull younger boys, so I’ll have to start lying again.” Vicky said: “Oh mate, well you don’t look 51.” Lauren then dropped another sort of reveal and joked: “I’ve had a little bit of help. I’d like to say I’ve got a good light on, but I haven’t even got a light on in here.”

And fans are here for Lauren’s honesty – finally – as one wrote: “Love Lauren so down to earth, says it like it is. She should have won BB.” Another commented: “Laughing here, I thought Lauren was older”, as a third joked: “Whisper!”

Though Lauren, who was previously married to property tycoon Paul Simon, shot to fame on ITVBe reality show The Real Housewives of Cheshire, another member of her family could soon be about to steal the limelight – as it was revealed her 19-year-old daughter Gigi is reportedly being lined up for this year’s summer Love Island. Gigi is already a social media influencer with a TikTok following and was seen cheering her mum into the Big Brother house.

While the Love Island line-up for 2024 has yet to be officially announced, a source told The Sun Gigi is “in talks” with TV bosses. They said: “It’s early stages and she’s just in talks but Gigi is really keen to sign up. She’s obviously got ITV connections through her mum but if she does get on the show, it won’t be because of that.”

Earlier this month, the start date for this year’s Love Island was revealed to be Monday, June 3, with host Maya Jama again taking over presenting duties. Fans of the show will know it usually airs for eight weeks over the summer, with the winners being announced in August. The upcoming series will be the second airing of Love Island this year, after All-Stars wrapped in January, with Tom Clare and Molly Smith being crowned the winners.
