Celtic hero Kris Commons’ wife robbed in Spain – after thief raided boot of taxi she was in

Resilient Lisa said the theft left her "gutted" but she is staying out in Spain to help her guests

CELTIC hero Kris Commons’ wife was robbed in Spain - after a sneak thief raided the boot of the taxi she was in.

Lisa Hague, 39, had left her bag in the cab and quickly nipped into a supermarket in Estepona, Spain, on Tuesday afternoon.

But she was horrified when she returned to the cab and discovered that her luggage had been swiped - and the driver hadn’t even noticed.

The former Hoops WAG had travelled to the Costa del Sol as she prepared to welcome a family at her first overseas grief retreat.

The bereavement coach started up Grieve and Grow after her and Kris, 40, lost their baby daughter Lola who was stillborn in February 2008.

The married couple seek to use their experience of loss and grief to help parents manage their bereavement and move forward with their lives.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun just hours after the incident, Lisa said: “I had a rucksack with me that had my laptop and all my bits and bobs for my retreat in it.

“The taxi driver had picked me up from the airport and drove me to a supermarket. He waited outside while I went in to get some fresh food for the family arriving.

“I was in the shop for about 10 minutes. When I came back out to put my shopping in the boot, I saw that my bag was gone.

“Then he said, ‘I did hear a boot slam, but I presumed it was another car’. It had all my coaching documents and presentations of everything we do in it.

“The only saving grace is that I took my son’s man bag that had the apartment keys, my passport, my money, and my phone in it. At the last second, I took it out of the boot.

“Everything else is gone.”

It is not the first time that Lisa has been a victim of theft.

In November 2013, thugs broke into her and Kris’ villa in Bearsden, Glasgow.

The couple was in bed and their kids were asleep on the floor below while crooks swiped designer handbags and three luxury motors.

Lisa said: “We got broken into in Scotland. They drove my Range Rover through Bearsden and threw kids’ stuff out the window.

“I’ve been looking around nearby streets, thinking stuff might have been discarded. But I’ve not found anything.

“It’s worse than just losing holiday stuff, I’m waiting on people coming out here. I can cope with losing my clothes, but it’s hard to relearn a four-day retreat - it will come down to strength of character.

“You are supporting people through their loss. I’m just gutted.

“I let them know what happened, they’ve been so kind. It’s devastating and knocks your confidence.

“I hadn’t even gotten to my house and something awful happened. I’m not hopeful of getting everything back.”

Lisa said that her children wanted her to fly back home after they heard what happened.

But she is determined to not let the unsettling experience throw her and she has vowed to stay in Spain and help her guests.

Lisa added: “The kids were so upset and were asking me to come home but I was saying ‘no’. It’s rocked me but it won’t stop me.

“Sometimes life throws you curveballs. We need to deal with things as best we can.”

Lisa and Kris brought their first retreat to Scotland on February 3 last year, just days two days after the 15th anniversary of losing little Lola.

During her Spanish retreat, Lisa will use beach yoga, reiki, meditation, and breath work to help her guests.
