The new series, which airs on Channel 4, follows the home interiors fanatic help people who have encountered bad builders.

Whether it's bricklaying or basic plumbing, Stacey will be getting stuck into the projects herself too, as she will share the tips she picked up while renovating her £1.2million home, Pickle Cottage.

In tonight's episode, the mum of five travelled to the Forest of Dean to help Katie and Chris, who after saving for their dream home for seven years, ended up with a huge damp problem after an incident with dodgy builders.

This bad experience knocked the couple's confidence and they had put their whole renovation on hold, until Stacey came to the rescue.

Understanding how difficult it must have been for the couple to have had their dreams of a forever home get stalled at the first hurdle, Stacey was eager to get started on helping them out.

Meanwhile, at Stacey's own home Pickle Cottage, the mum decided to do some DIY work of her own, with the help of Renovation Rescue's resident builder Aggie.

The X-Factor star revealed that she is "obsessed" with arched doorways, and was keen to make her own for her recently renovated poolside shelter.

With the help of Aggie, she measured her doorways, and cut up some plywood into an arch shape.

However, just as Stacey was getting into the project, she was rudely interrupted by husband Joe.

"What is it with you and arches?" Joe said as he swaggered into the pool house.

'My hobbies are more important than Joe’s' Stacey Solomon cheekily claims

"I just love an arch", Stacey replied, "once I learn how to do this Joe, even the doors to your wardrobes are going to be arched".

Attempting to continue to teach Stacey how to make the arches, Aggie said: "It doesn't do the bang, bang, bang, you're not screwing in, it's spinning".

Joe, finding, Aggie's comment hilarious, leaned in to Stacey, and cheekily said: "It's all about the bang, bang, bang, Stace.

"The long screw, and the bang, bang bang".

Faking annoyance, Stacey, who shares three children with Joe, and has two others from a previous relationship joked: "This is what I've got to live with Aggie, this is why I've got 100 children".

Back in the Forest of Dean, Chris and Katie's renovation was also making progress, with Stacey helping the couple to create a "retro ice-cream parlour" of a kitchen, including checkerboard flooring and bright pink taps.

The final result left the couple incredibly emotional, and they gushed over the transformation.

"We're just amazed at what we've managed to achieve", said Katie.

"It's been a hard slog, but so worth it".
