Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown have developed quite a bond since Porzingis arrived in Boston.

They carpool, work in tandem on the court, and even have a nickname.

The latest example of their connection surfaced Saturday morning, via Celtics All-Access. The video, shared by Noa Dalzell of Celtics Blog, shows Brown taking Porzingis to Brown’s high school in Marietta, Georgia.

First, the video shows a quote from Brown plastered on the wall inside Wheeler High School: “I want to understand everything so I can put myself in a position to be successful.”

Brown said he didn’t even know the quote was there, and he was excited to see it. He turned to Porzingis and joked: “You win something, I’ll get you a quote, too.”

They then entered the old gym, where Brown played his games, and both players took shots. Brown said there were no lights, it was hot, and there was no grip on the floor.

Porzingis then asked Brown if his team won a championship, and Brown said yes and showed him the hardware to prove it. Brown said he went 13 for 13 from the free-throw line, including the winning shots to seal it.

The camera then panned to his McDonald’s All-American poster, prompting Brown to say: “Young killer right here. Young handsome young man.”

He then showed Porzingis the new gym, which he helped build. The gym is called Douglas Lipscomb Gymnasium, and Porzingis then met Lipscomb – who coached Brown in high school.

They then briefly discussed a potential trip to Latvia to see Porzingis’s hometown.
