HBO Max down updates — Video streaming service faces outage as users get message saying content is ‘not available’
HBO Max faced an outage Saturday as users couldn't connect to the video streaming service.
Over 4,500 users reported issues with Max around 4 pm ET, according to Downdetector.
Users received a message saying that content is "not available in your region" when trying to access the app.
"'Not available in your region yet' error. I’m in Virginia and just finished watching a movie," one user wrote on Downdetector.
"Getting the error 'Not available in your region yet' (I've had it since the Max app went live). Am in NJ," another shared.
Reports of the outage began to drop around 5 pm.

Outage map revealed
HBO users across the country are reporting issues with Max, according to an outage heat map on Downdetector.
In the comments section on the site, users in Florida and Virginia are reporting their problems.

Nearly 4,800 Max users were reporting problems with the site around 4:45 pm ET, but the issues seem to be slowing down.
As of 5 pm, only about 1,200 users were still having trouble with the platform.
Most issues are with video streaming
The majority of users reporting an outage are having issues with video streaming on Max, according to Downdetector.
Less than half of users facing problems are having trouble with the app, while 8% are seeing issues with the website itself.
