Meghan Markle ditched her engagement ring for months as reports suggested it was getting fixed, with one expert now revealing how much it might have cost.

The Duchess of Sussex didn't wear her ring for eight months last year, with many fans growing concerned that the piece of jewellery was "missing". However, she finally stepped out wearing the dazzling ring as she attended the Bob Marley: One Love film premiere with Prince Harry.

Meghan also wore the ring when she joined Harry in Florida last month. Many fans were convinced the engagement ring looked bigger than usual and jewellery expert Tony French believes it could have cost Meghan just £250 to alter.

"Prince Harry is said to have designed the ring with a centre cushion cut diamond complimented by two smaller stones on either side. More recently, Meghan’s engagement ring appears to have undergone a few alterations," he said.

Speaking to GB News, Tony explained what changes Meghan could have had made to the ring. "She seems to have replaced the yellow gold shank of the ring with a sleek diamond-studded band and the central stone has reportedly changed," he said.

The expert added: "The cost of resizing an engagement ring like this could range anywhere between £75 and £250 depending on how many sizes are required and indeed whether it is even possible." He says it can take between a few hours to a few days to make the adjustment.

Meghan made headlines after ditching her engagement ring at a number of big events. She decided not to wear it as she attended the Invictus Games in September, despite wearing plenty of other jewellery.

Meghan was also seen without her engagement ring while relaxing with pals during a birthday celebration. Harry designed the stunning engagement ring himself. It made with two diamonds from his mum Diana's collection and one from Botswana, on a plain gold band.

However, less than two years later, the ring looked very different after a redesign, which Meghan debuted at Trooping the Colour in 2019. By then, Meghan was wearing the ring on a thinner micropave band - along with another stunning ring.
