Emmerdale will air an explosive special dinner party episode next week.

On Tuesday 7 May, the ITV soap will give viewers a glimpse of what things are like behind closed doors for Belle Dingle and Tom King and Rhona Ghoskirk and Marlon Dingle - as we see Belle's harrowing reality while a split could be on the cards for Rhona and Marlon as they struggle in the fall out of Gus Malcoms' trial and Rhona going behind her husband's back during the court proceedings.

Ahead of the explosive episode, Emmerdale has released a first look video as it sees tense scenes between Rhona and Marlon before their split. In the clip, Rhona and Marlon arrive at the dinner party where the duo start to bicker. Marlon says to Rhona: "Ladies first" to which she retorts: "How polite!" Marlon then makes a joke about Rhona, which doesn't go down well as the two make pointed digs at each other before Rhona rolls her eyes.

Spoilers for the episode reveal that Tom decides to throw a dinner party for his co-workers at home after he messes up at the vets and has an outburst. Meanwhile, Rhona and Marlon are still feuding after all that happened with Gus, but they agree to meet for lunch where it's clear things are awkward between them. Rhona tells him they're going to Tom's for dinner and he's angry to find out he wasn't consulted before she agreed to it. He agrees he'll come to the meal but it's clear the pair are far from getting along.

At the dinner party, tensions are clearly palpable between Rhona and Marlon whilst Paddy Kirk and Mandy Dingle seem blissfully unaware and their loved up display only makes things more awkward. Whilst Vanessa Woodfield, Suzy Merton, Paddy and Mandy all enjoy the evening, Belle excuses herself for a moment, blaming the onions for making her cry, but it's clear she's troubled about her relationship with vile Tom.

A fight ensues between Rhona and Marlon, as she tries to leave but he rejects her choice. She seemingly ends their marriage in front of everyone - but is this really it for the couple or will they be able to sort things out? Viewers will recall that the duo married almost two years ago in 2022.

Emmerdale airs every week night at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. *Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads.
