SNL Video: An Exhausted Jerry Seinfeld Drops By Weekend Update With a Message for Ryan Gosling

There is such a thing as getting too much press, it turns out, and Jerry Seinfeld definitely hit that point as he dropped by this week’s Saturday Night Live.

The comedian and Seinfeld star paid a surprise visit to SNL’s Weekend Update midway through a very long press tour for his Netflix movie Unfrosted. (Streaming now, he’d like you to know!) Colin Jost introduced him simply as “a man who did too much press,” and a harried Seinfeld sat down looking exhausted and disheveled. He didn’t even know which show he was on: “Is this a podcast?”

Seinfeld rattled off the names of all the press interviewers he’s talked to on his whirlwind of promotion: “Hoda, Mo Rocca, Chanel, Vlad…” He took time to address people out there suffering just like him: “If you’re struggling with press, you’re not alone. I’m talking to you, Ryan Gosling.” When Seinfeld started his promotion tour, he claimed, he was “funny, good-looking… now look at me. You think this is how I wanted to spend my 26th birthday?”

His nightmare isn’t over, though: Midway through his speech, Seinfeld took a call from a Univision reporter and launched right into another interview. He even offered to conduct the interview in Spanish! The Catalan dialect!
