Tom Brady Briefly Forgets What a Roast Is After Jeff Ross’ Robert Kraft Massage Joke

"Don’t say that shit again," the former NFL star told the roastmaster general during his set

Tom Brady is apparently fine with jokes about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen, the “deflategate” controversy, and the millions he reportedly lost in crypto, but he draws the line at bits about Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s massage parlor scandal.

It was, unsurprisingly, roastmaster general Jeff Ross who delivered the one joke that really seemed to irk Brady during the three-hour (seriously) G.R.O.A.T The Greatest Roast Of All Time: Tom Brady. The joke, in full: “So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft‘s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made… Would you like a massage?’”

While Brady maintained a grin, he seemed to hesitate for a moment before getting up and walking over to Ross and telling him, “Don’t say that shit again.” While he may have intended it as a whisper, the mic picked it up and the comment was very audible.

Ross, who’d already blown a kiss to Kraft and said, “I love Robert Kraft,” responded to Brady’s remark with a laugh and another gesture to Kraft, “OK, OK. He’s having fun, look at him”

While the incident certainly didn’t look planned, Rolling Stone has reached out to reps for Brady and Ross for any further comment or info.

Ross’ joke stemmed from Kraft’s 2019 arrest on charges of soliciting prostitution. He was arrested as part of an investigation into a string of massage parlors in Florida and faced two charges of soliciting sex from an employee of one parlor in Jupiter. Kraft rejected a plea deal and entered a not-guilty plea, but the charges were ultimately dropped in the fall of 2020 on the grounds that the surveillance footage used to prosecute him was illegally obtained.

A few weeks after his arrest, Kraft issued a statement saying: “I am truly sorry. I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard. Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I would ever want to do is disrespect another human being… As I move forward, I hope to continue to use the platform with which I have been blessed to help others and to try to make a difference. I expect to be judged not by my words, but by my actions. And through those actions, I hope to regain your confidence and respect.”
