A 10-month-old girl abducted from a New Mexico park Friday has been found safe, authorities said Monday.

An Amber Alert was issued for Eleia Maria Torres after her mother and another woman were discovered dead and her 5-year-old sister was found injured in Ned Houk Park near Clovis around 4:30 p.m.

Eleia, who is 10 months, was found “through a collaborated law enforcement effort,” the Clovis Police Department said. She "is in good health" and recovering at a hospital, but has no injuries, Clovis Deputy Police Chief Trevor Thron said at a news briefing Monday.

Alek Isaiah Collins, a 26-year-old Texas man, has been charged with her kidnapping and the deaths of the two women, according to Clovis police.

Police do not believe Collins is related to any of the victims at this time "and have not found any evidence of it, but are still following leads about the suspect," Deputy Chief Thron said.

District Attorney Quentin Ray of the state's Ninth Judicial District said the suspect is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse and first-degree kidnapping.

The suspect and the baby girl were found at a residence in Abilene, Texas, according to Thron. The suspect was in the custody of the FBI on Monday, he said.

Thron said he was feeling a mix of "sorrow and relief" after the arrest.

"Even though we have the suspect in custody, there is still a lot of work that has to be done. Our teams of professionals have been working tirelessly trying to piece everything together, including identifying the motive," he said.

Clovis police issued the Amber Alert for Eleia on Friday after officers were dispatched to Ned Houk Park in response to a 911 call about a person who had found two dead women.

Officers found the women lying on the ground near a silver Dodge minivan, police said in a Facebook statement. They apparently had been shot.

A 5-year-old girl was also found suffering from a gunshot wound to her head and was taken to an area hospital, Clovis police and state police said in statements. Her current condition isn’t clear.

Police identified the dead women as Samantha Cisneros, the mother of both children, and Taryn Allen. Both women were 23 and were from Texico, New Mexico.
