MODEL and Celebrity Big Brother star Alicia Douvall has shared the anti-aging tips she swears by for plump, youthful skin.

But though she loves some good skincare, she's not that big on creams — and prefers other skincare products entirely.

The former Celebrity Big Brother UK star and Douvall's Skincare co-founder has plenty of dos and don'ts when it comes to looking fabulous

She shared some anti-aging advice that anyone can follow with The U.S. Sun.

SPF SITUATION

Alicia, 44, emphasized the importance of protecting your skin from the sun.

"Always wear an SPF with broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection," she said.

According to the self-confessed former plastic surgery addict, a natural zinc SPF gives instant sun protection when applied versus chemical SPF, which she said takes time to work.

But don't think just because you're inside — or in flight — that you're safe from the sun.

"Did you know you still get UVA rays penetrating through the windows of the airplane, which can cause skin aging?" she said.

"Apply your sunscreen before getting on the plane!"

MOISTURE MAGIC

Aging skin is dry skin, argued Alicia, so it's "all about putting enough moisture into your skin and body to plump it out."

That is exactly why argan oil is scientifically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles — and it's the main ingredient in many of the products for her brand.

The Douvall's Beauty Organic First Cold Pressed Argan oil, $46, is their best-seller and is available at Walmart.

"It's packed with fatty acids that plump out the skin," the founder said.

Many beauty experts already share how great water is for your skin, but the model also said that high water content in fruit and vegetables help your skin too.

Some examples include watermelon, cucumber, grapefruit, oranges, lettuce, and celery.

"Hydration is key for maintaining skin elasticity," Alicia added.

LESS IS MORE

There is a lot to be said about an anti-inflammatory diet, but Alicia said anti-inflammatory skincare is important too.

"The less chemicals you put on your skin, the better," she added.

That is exactly why she explained that hormone patches work so well because "what we put on our skin goes into our body."

"If you over-complicate your skincare with chemicals your body doesn’t know what to do with it and your cells have to work hard," she said.

Alicia has a simple rule of thumb when it comes to skincare.

"If you can’t eat it you generally don’t want to put it on your skin," she said.

Dermatologist-approved anti-aging tips

Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared his dermatologist-approved tips with The U.S. Sun.

  • Stop using tanning beds.
  • Don't use sunscreen to contour your face.
  • Wear driving gloves to protect your hands from the sun. He likes Coolibar Gannett UV Gloves UPF 50+, $15.99 to $39.
  • Exercise, stick to a healthy diet, and get enough sleep.
  • Don't drink excessively or smoke.

OILS VERSUS CREAMS

"I am a big believer in using oils instead of creams," said the star.

She explained that creams are at least 60% to 85% water, whereas oils are deeply hydrating and contain antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins.

Oils not only nourish but protect and repair skin.

She also said that they protect against free radicals that can accelerate the aging process.

This, in turn, strengthens the skin barrier and retains moisture, plus resists external stressors.
