SRH fans wish captain Pat Cummins in a unique way, bringing back memories from the ODI World Cup

Sun Risers Hyderabad are competing against Lucknow Suoer Giants today at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. The two teams will face off to decide who gets to be at the third spot at the points table.

Currently both teams have equal scores of 12 points each. LSG has won the toss and opted to bat first. The Lucknow team has also finished the first innings at 150/4 which is an extremely low margin, especially for a team like SRH to chase. However, seeing how tough run-chases have been for SRH, we can’t rule out the match ending in LSG’s favour.

Fans Wish Pat Cummins in a unique style

Australian skipper and SRH captain Pat Cummins celebrates his 31st birthday today on 8th May, 2024. The pacer had debuted at a young age, and went on to take 7 wickets in his test debut in 2011.

However, it has been the SRH fans who have taken some of the limelight this time. One fan was seen holding a banner at the SRHvsLSG match that said “happy birthday silencer”. It is an ongoing joke within Indian cricket fans who like to call cummins “silencer” because of a comment he made.

The story of “silencer” Cummins

For those who are unaware, Pat Cummins had previously made a statement about how satisfying it would be for him to silence thousands of fans at an Indian stadium at the ODI World Cup.

Cummins had said, ‘nothing more satisfying than hearing a big crowd go silent’.

He made sure on that promise as Australian Cricket Team won the World Cup tournament. Additionally, the crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad did go silent when the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was dismissed.

Ever since, Indian fans have called Pat “silencer” in a joking manner.
