Cops checked CCTV and believe they have identified her attacker as a 28-year-old man from Pakistan.

The Foreign Office has been contacted for comment.

It comes after a British woman described being gang-raped while on holiday in Cyprus earlier this year.

The woman was gang raped by five men after being “forcibly dragged” into a hotel room in the party resort of Ayia Napa. The tourist, aged 20 at the time of the alleged attack, was escorted under police protection into Famagusta criminal court in February to give testimony behind closed doors.

It was the first time since identifying the suspects in a police line up last September the Brit came face-to-face with the men. A police officer said: “She is being incredibly brave. She went in with her head held high.”
