This Morning regular and Hollywood entertainment reporter Sam Rubin has sadly died at the age of 64. After completing an early Friday morning news segment, Rubin reportedly suffered a heart attack, as Variety was informed by a source.

TMZ has reported that he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital where he went into full cardiac arrest. Only yesterday, Rubin appeared on air for KTLA, having been a key figure there since 1991.

His outstanding work in entertainment journalism won him several awards, including an Emmy, and he is fondly remembered for his interviews with stars like Mariah Carey and Usher. On social media, KTLA shared: "KTLA 5 is profoundly saddened to report the death of Sam Rubin. Sam was a giant in the local news industry and the entertainment world, and a fixture of Los Angeles morning television for decades.

Sam leaves behind his wife Leslie and their four children. His death has led to a flood of tributes from fans online, with one heartbroken viewer saying: "THIS is a shocker.
