Fans on Twitter reacted after Chennai Super Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals in the 62nd game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They outclassed the opposition by 5 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (21st May) to stay alive for the playoffs. 

Rajasthan Royals opted to bat first and it wasn’t the kind of outing they would’ve wanted. Yashavi Jaiswal (24) and Jos Buttler (21) started pretty well and hit some crisp shots. With the start they had they seemed to be right on the track for a big total. 

However, Chennai Super Kings pulled back things well after that. Simarjeet Singh rattled the top order for the team as apart from removing two openers he also removed Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson (15) as well to leave the opposition tottering at 91/3. 

Riyan Parag (47*) held the one end and made sure that he batted till the end. Dhruv Jurel (28) also played a vital hand for his team as Rajasthan Royals posted a total of 141 runs on the board. For Chennai Super Kings, apart from Simarjeet, Tushar Deshpande picked two wickets. 

Chennai Super Kings started pretty well in the chase. Rachin Ravindra (27) and Ruturaj Gaikwad added 32 runs for the opening partnership. After that, Daryl Mitchell (22) played a brutal knock as well at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Rajasthan Royals then pulled back things well as they picked early wickets and put Chennai Super Kings under pressure. Moeen Ali (10) tried to get going but he too perished as well. Things got tense for CSK when Ravindra Jadeja got all obstructing the field. 

However, after that skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (42*) made sure that he took his team home. Sameer Rizvi (15*) supported him well as Chennai Super Kings won the game by 5 wickets.
