A WEDDING guest stressed over their mom's approach to a dress code rule.

While her mom didn't seem to care about bending the wedding's style rules, people thought she was disrespecting the bride.

Redditor HelicopterBorn2990 shared her wedding dress dilemma in a viral post.

She explained that she was struggling with picking an appropriate dress for the ceremony she was invited to.

Although her mom had picked out two options for her, she wasn't sure if either option was fitting.

"My mom got these two dresses for my cousin's wedding this summer," she said.

"I am worried that they are too white. She thinks they are fine because they are not bridal-style dresses."

Comments poured in as people reacted to her mother's attitude toward the dress code.

"They’re white. You don’t wear white to a wedding," said one commenter.

"What is wrong with some people? Don’t wear these dresses to a wedding."

"This message is for your mother lol. Random person on the internet’s mom, I know these dresses aren’t bridal," said another.

"But you are being asked on one day of the year to not wear white. Out of respect for the bride. If you wear white, the perception will be you hate/don’t approve/don’t like the bride.

My sister yelled at me for wearing ‘white’ to her wedding but my 6’8″ boyfriend really set her off, her husband is 5’9″

"Do you want that to be the perception?” they asked.

"You don’t wear white to a wedding. It doesn’t matter if it’s not a bridal style; it’s about respect for the couple," agreed another.

While viewers overwhelmingly agreed that the dresses were too white, one person took up another issue with the two choices.

"Aside from the white issue, they're both very casual!" said one commenter.

"The one on the left is borderline swimsuit coverup/beach, and the right hand is giving brunch/church/sundress.

The helpful critic, however, offered an excuse that may convince the Redditor's mom to ditch the white dresses.

"I think one way to convince your mom not to wear these is to hint that, in general, white is a tough color to wear," they said.

"It shows every little mark/smudge/stain, and it's also tough to match accessories.

"But aside from that, any dress made of stretch material is too casual for anything but VFW/backyard weddings."
