The adrenaline for the big Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk clash has hit its peak. Both camps have descended upon Riyadh for this epic clash, but not without a bit of trademark fireworks. Leading the front for the Furys is their senior-most member, Fury family patriarch, John Fury. Since touching down in Riyadh yesterday, “Big John” has wasted no time reminding the world that the Fury camp is all about blood, sweat, and tears – quite literally.

Behind the scenes, both fighters might be taking their heaves as they mentally brace themselves for the undisputed heavyweight clash that is to happen on the 18th of May in Kingdom Arena. On the front, their teams have made sure the noise is heard loud and beyond. In a video posted by Seconds Out, an altercation between the two sides was captured and it laid the premise for the upcoming fight aptly.

On one end was the Ukrainian’s team who, with all their vehemence, loudly iterated their support for their fighter by chanting his name in unison. Enraged by this, John Fury, took charge by himself, following suit. However, the poignant detail of the entire altercation was blood flowing from his forehead and onto his nose after he head-butted a member of Usyk’s entourage.

Hardly fazed by it, he made sure the other side knew he was well by his son’s side. As he chanted ‘Fury’ at the top of his lungs, he missed another disaster. He was almost about to trip over the floor and fall on his face, but he was lucky this time. A group of people standing ahead helped arrest his fall and save him from embarrassment. In the video, the trainer to the Fury brothers can be seen yelling, “We’re Spartans! We’re Spartans!” “Let’s F**cking Go.” “I live for blood. I live for this shit. My boy lives for this shit,” he roared loudly.

Michael Benson posted visuals from the venue where Big John Fury can be seen head-butting one of Usyk’s team members, an altercation that left him bleeding from his head.

Moments after the ordeal, John Fury, however, got himself together and addressed the matter with the media.

Yet another apology from John Fury

Big John has a track record of causing havoc at his sons’ fight events. Last year, when his younger son, Tommy Fury, was about to fight KSI, John Fury was equally in the limelight for all the same reasons. At the press conference, he lept up off his seat yelling at Logan Paul and his opponent Dillon Danis. He not only got off his seat yelling, he also hurled chairs and tables into the audience. However, after the damage was done, he gave an apology.

This time too, the antics were played again. Seconds Out reported on the apology he sent after the entire fiasco that happened today. In it, John Fury wrote, “Sincere apologies to everybody involved. It’s just the way we are. Emotions and tensions are running high. He was a very disrespectful fella. If you come close in a fighting man’s space, you’re gonna cop for something. What matters to me is respect for my son and he wasn’t showing any of it. He mentioned my son and that was it, so he had to have it. It doesn’t bother me [bleeding], it’s what we live for, we’re fighting people. That’s a regular occurrence to me. ”
